Fire mission
Click once for the gun, once for the target, or paste the game's Mark Coordinates line from squad chat. The panel gives distance, azimuth, the elevation to dial on the sight for each arc and the time the shell is in the air. Add up to six guns, the way a base spreads its mortars against counter-battery, and every one gets its own line on the shared target. Drag the ground to pan, wheel to zoom, and the correction buttons walk the aim point after the spotter's call.
Ranges and firing tables
| Platform | Type | Min range | Max range | Elevation | Arcs | Low arc from | Reload | Firing table | Data |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SPH-2 | Self-propelled howitzer | 780 m | 2629 m | 20–1390 mil | Low and high | 1181 m | 27 s | low 59 rows · high 80 rows | Community |
| L81 mortar | Buildable mortar | 132 m | 684 m | 150–850 mil | High only | — | 6.5 s | high 84 rows | Community |
- Azimuth
- Compass bearing from gun to target. 0° is north, 90° is east. It is the number you traverse to. The tool reads it three digits wide, the way it is called.
- Elevation
- Vertical angle in mils on the gun's own sight, not NATO mils; the SPH-2 and the L81 each have their own scale. It decides where the shell lands along the bearing. Range in with one shot before you commit.
- Low or high arc
- Low when the target might move: less time in the air. High when something solid is in the way. The SPH-2 low arc only reaches past about 1,181 m; under that the high arc is the only one that gets there. The L81 has one trajectory. The dead zone drawn in red around the gun is the ground no elevation can reach: move the gun, not the dial.
- Several guns
- Shift-click the map, or press Add gun, to put another piece on the sheet, up to six. They all fire on the one target and each keeps its own range, bearing and elevation, which is what a base wants when the mortars sit apart so one counter-battery shell cannot take the lot. Copy mission hands the whole set to squad chat in one paste, and the shared link carries every position.
- Coordinates
- The rulers and the readout use the game's own tactical-map units, 100 m each, from the south-west corner of the 16384 m world. A pair called in squad chat or marked with Mark Coordinates goes straight into a box; the copy buttons hand it back in the same form.
- Time in the air
- Modelled, not measured: a drag-and-gravity fit to the same guns, evaluated at the table's elevation. Flat ground assumed. Use it to time the impact call, not to argue with the sight.
Firing tables are community measurements from the open wardogs-calculator project (MIT), fetched 2026-09-09, patch alpha-1. Not a Bulkhead publication. Cross-checked against an independent physics-model calculator: it runs the SPH-2 about 1 % longer (745–2660 m) and agrees on the L81 (685 m max), which retires the older 3.1 km claim. We re-verify after each Early Access patch.
